Injection Molded Plastic Parts

Basics of Custom Plastic Injection Molding

The plastic injection molding process allows us to produce end-use production parts and rapid prototypes in just 15 days or less.

Pangea Technologies uses aluminum molds that offer budget-friendly tooling and an accelerated manufacturing cycle. Also, it stocks various  thermoplastic resins as needed.

We have two kinds of injected molded plastic options – on-demand manufacturing and prototyping. Each of these offers a variety of benefits depending on the project requirements.

In case the annual quantity of parts is high, we ensure that the piece part price is economical and the production time has a quick-turn around. Opt for our on-demand manufacturing option!

Injected Molded Plastic – The Procedure

The manufacturing process for molded parts is complicated. Before the parts are molded, we help you with a consultative design service and quick manufacturability study. It is best to avoid all kinds of design glitches before the resin gets into the mold.

Once this is done, our production process gets optimized using scientific molding. You get high-quality parts at a consistent rate!

Once the parts are ready to mold, the samples and process get qualified with the help of CMM technology. We can generate a FAI.

The process of thermoplastic injection molding involves an aluminum mold with no cooling or heating line running through it. This means that the cycle time is a little longer.

During the molding procedure, we utilize an automated inline CMM to make sure the dimensions are accurate.

Resin pellets are filled into a barrel and, once this is done, they get melted, compressed, and then injected into the runner system of the mold.

Hot resin goes into the mold cavity through a gate and then the part is molded. The ejector pins ensure that the parts are removed from mold prior to the parts falling into a loading box/bin.

Once this is complete, the sample run or the parts are boxed and then shipped.
